- Спасибо гостинице "Шодлик Палас" за то, что они позволили нам осуществить свой проект в этом пространстве. Мы поняли, что он нужен городу, что такого места здесь больше нет, и благодарны тем ребятам, которые подключились к нему. Пришло очень много молодых - мы назвали их пионерами. Они вложили не только свои силы, но и душу, очень много всего оставив здесь, я надеюсь, надолго.
Спасибо зарубежным участниками проекта. Габриель Спектр много работал с каждым участником. Люди идут и идут, такого искусства в Ташкенте пока еще не было, на выставке много интересного, это для нас новое искусство самовыражения. Мы даже не считали, сколько здесь представлено арт-объектов, но работало 15 художников. Есть и огромные панно, есть и маленькие нюансы.
Народ впечатлен, и мы удивлены, что столько народу пришло. Думали, что событие частного порядка. Но такой наплыв публики... И не хотят люди расходиться, около каждого объекта все перефотографировались.
Я рада, ведь столько сил вложено, и мне нравятся работы.

- Thanks to the hotel "Shodlik Palace" for allowing us to carry out the project in this space. We realized that we needed the city, a place that is no longer here, and grateful to those guys who are connected to it. It's a lot of young - we called them pioneers. They put not only their strength, but also their souls, leaving a lot of things here, I hope, for a long time.
Thanks to the foreign participants in the project. Gabriel has worked with a range of participants. People come and go, this art in Tashkent has not yet begin to show a lot of interest, it is for us a new art expression. We did not even consider how much there is art facilities, but worked 15 artists. There are huge murals, there are little nuances.
People impressed, and we're surprised that so many people came. It was thought that the event private. But such an influx of public ... They do not want people to disperse about each object all perefotografirovalis.
I'm glad, because so much effort invested, and I like the work.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS

Kendal Henry is an artist and curator who lives in NYC and specializes in public art. He’s worked on a variety of public art projects and programs in the US, Europe, Russia, Asia and Australia. Kendal has served as a Manager of Arts Programs at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Arts for Transit for eleven years. During that time, he has overseen the fabrication and installation of their permanent art projects, served as a member of the MTA’s in-house design team, produced temporary exhibitions at Grand Central Terminal, and produced the MTA’s award-winning poster program. Previous to his experience at the MTA, he served as a project manager at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs’ Percent for Art Program. While in Dushanbe, Kendal will create projects with local artists that utilizes art as a tool for education, communication and empowerment while maintaining the merits of a work of art. Community will be an integral part of the creation process.

Third Rail Projects, led by Artistic Directors Zach Morris, Tom Pearson, and Jennine Willett is dedicated to reframing dance and performance and bringing art to the public through an array of media and within a variety of contexts including site-specific performances, dance theater, installation art, video and multi-media projects, and immersive performance environments. Collectively, Third Rail artists have been granted commissions, support, and residencies from presenters, organizations, and foundations including: Arts Brookfield, Danspace Project, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, Abrons Arts Center, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Dance New Amsterdam, Dance Theater Workshop, Topaz Arts, La Mama ETC, 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, The American Music Center, The Lucky Star Foundation, and Materials for the Arts, among many others. Third Rail artists have also received numerous awards including two 2008 New York Dance and Performance (Bessie) Awards for Vanishing Point, a 2001 New York International Fringe Festival Award for Choreography from the Present Company, and others

Since 1995 Gabriel Reese has been focusing his creative energy on challenging public perception of forgotten places and people within the urban landscape. In order to understand and relate better to these locations he develops a personal relationship with the space, researching the community around it, the history and purpose, as well as the reasons for neglect. By focusing on these otherwise unseen places Reese attempts to address the less desirable issues that we often choose not to face. Reese is known to many as Specter and has established himself as a prominent figure within the New York public art community.

ARTBAT CONTEMPORARY ART FESTIVAL

International Contemporary Art festival ARTBAT FEST is a project that unites Kazakhstan and foreign participants in various areas of contemporary art. The uniqueness of this festival is that it creates cultural events that blur the boundaries between artists, actors, musicians and the audience. Art objects are presented in changing architectural, informational, and social spaces in which we live, making it more interesting and appealing. Young and talented artists get site, material and technical support for the implementation of their artistic ideas, and in exchange, new information and skills, broaden our circle of professional knowledge and development. The overall result is a cultural community, tourism and high-quality entertainment.

THE ILKHOM THEATRE OF MARK WEIL

The Ilkhom Theatre of Mark Weil is the only professional independent performing arts organization in Uzbekistan was founded in 1976 by legendary director Mark Weil. The Ilkhom Theatre has always been known as a destination of intellectuals’ pilgrimage, a place of concentration and creating of modern cultural environment. The Ilkhom has never been a political figure; nevertheless, this fact didn’t prevent the theatre and its artistic director from being blamed for non-conformism in the years of stagnation in 1980s as well as from being ignored by the power and state bodies supporting culture in the post-Soviet years.

At the present the Ilkhom Theatre remains the only theatre collective in Central Asia with the ability to realize the most ambitious projects, while retaining its political and artistic independence.
